What are India's major export Industries?

India's major exports are garments, diamonds and software. All 3 of the above are on account of the highly skilled, low cost labour force in India. Raw stores are imported from Belgium and South Africa, are processed, cut and polished and re-exported all over the world. Most large U.S. software corporations have a presence in Bangalore (a city in South India), called the Silicon Valley of India. Software is developed in India by programmers who are paid 1/8th of their counterparts in the U.S. or Japan. The software is sent back and forth via satellite. India is 91/2 hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern Standard Time. This makes it convenient for software developers. They work during the day here when it is night in the U.S. and their finished work can be viewed first thing in the morning by their counterparts in the U.S.
