While searching the Internet for web sites relating to Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) I ran across your impressive web page. After reviewing the content I thought you may be interested in knowing about our equipment and services.

My company (QUEST Integrated, Inc.) builds and designs LASER based NonDestructive Testing (NDT) equipment. One piece of equipment (LOTIS-400N) in particular provides inspections for boiler tubing with Bend Radiuses as tight as 6.0". The LOTIS was originally built for the US Navy in the 1980’s to inspect boiler tubing aboard marine vessels. In 1993 we took this one step further and started offering full inspection services within the Utility industry around the world. The LOTIS system actually maps the entire ID surface of the tubing with a laser rotating at 1800rpm and generates a detailed "user friendly" picture of the tubes interior surface. The operator can then look at the picture and determine location, dimensions and quantification of damages such as corrosion, erosion, bulging, swelling and open cracking.

Two CoGeneration plants on the East Coast operated by Westinghouse have completely stopped utilizing Eddy Current and Ultrasonics for their boiler tube inspection after utilizing the LOTIS. Westinghouse also stated that the LOTIS allowed them defer a $100,000 expense in the March/April 1997 issue of "POWER" magazine, page 15 & 16.
